the plot: While Spider-Man is in high spirits following the return of the Avengers and Fantastic Four from Counter-Earth, Barton Pogue, the new head of the Ravencroft Institute following Ashley Kafka's dismissal, decides to lessen security around Cletus Kasady and Carnage is reborn. Kasady heads over to the Daily Bugle, wounding Robbie Robertson's wife and prompting Spidey to head into action despite the price on his head. With the aid of the Silver Surfer, Carnage is stopped and the symbiote removed, but Spidey has a whole new can of worms to deal with, when the Carnage symbiote bonds with the Surfer to become the Carnage Cosmic!
