Limpa
This appetizer recipe was picked up from a
family friend while my father was in the Air Force, it's call Limpa.
1 cup shrimp, chopped real small
1
pound ground pork or beef, cooked and drained
1
green onion, diced small
1
carrot, shredded (using the small shred side works best)
1
cup bean sprouts, chopped up just a little
1
cup shredded cabbage
1
egg
Mix everthing together in a large bowl. Put one teaspoon of
the mixture into the center of a wonton wrapper, fold one corner over the
center, then the two side corners in, just enough to make a three sided
rectangle, then roll towards the fourth corner, seal corner with a little
water. Deep fry in hot oil. Drain on paper towels and serve hot or warm.
Note: They do not really reheat to well, so if you don't
plan on using the whole batch, save the remaining mixture for another day
and make it fresh.
