Working with Energy: One Woman's Sacred Vision
By Franconian-Die-Drud
Over the past few months I have found myself becoming more strongly connected with the Divine, a development aided by Chakra meditation. This form of meditation allows me to connect on a deeply emotional and spiritual level with that which I find sacred. My meditations start with a practical Mudra exercise that helps me focus my breath and clear my mind; sending me into a meditative state. Mudras are hand positions designed to help balance the body's energies - the Chakra Mudras help to align the Chakras and open up your awareness of them and their effect upon the body and mind.
I share with you one of my journeys into the place where time stands still and the possibilities are infinite...
My hands tingle and the air immediatley surrounding them is electric. Pillars of fire radiate from my palms high into the heavens. A vortex of flames, they spin and turn, spiraling upwards and glowing red like blood. Just as quickly as the flames appear, they subside. I look down at my hands. They have opened like a flower blossom waking in the spring from a deep sleep.
My vision grows - I am a leaf decaying into the earth.
I am the earth.
I change, spreading roots deep into the earth and quickly grow into a tree.
A burning sensation flows through my hands as an orange glow radiates out from the center of my belly, before forming a compact glowing orb. My hands open to contain the sphere of energy. I feel it push against my hands. The energy grows into a ball the size of a small kickball. I feel it resist pressure from my hands. The corona of the sphere is glowing orange while the center is much lighter in color. Within my pulsating ball of energy I see a tree. It is lush with leaves and the trunk is bent and knarled. Slowly the orange glow I cradle in my hands grows smaller and smaller until it is a tiny seed of light in the darkness that surrounds me.
My fingers are on fire! I am sitting on a mountain top - the peak. I am surrounded by blue sky. My hands and face are warmed in the bright sunlight. In the distance I see an owl, my totem. In my mind I call to her and hear a voice. It says, "Let her come to you, you are not ready."
Fire dances on the palms of my hands. My hands open so they are flat and facing the sky. I look down to see a forest growing out of them. There is mist in the treetops and birds flying into the distance. I watch for a while, in awe of the beauty I hold in my hands. Slowly the trees fade into the mist and then the mist disappears.
Heat slowly fills my hands from the center of my palms radiating outwards. I feel my head tilt backwards exposing the the soft white flesh of my throat. The base of my through inside feels open and wide. My mouth yawns like the entrance of a cave - millions upon millions of butterflies fly out. Finally the last butterfly flutters away and the cavern closes.
A blue light radiates out from the center of my forehead. Images flash before me, like I am seeing a montage on a tv. As they filter by I realize that I am seeing everything that is occuring in every moment in all parts of the world - simultaneously. Eveything fades to black.
A blinding white light with a hint of lavendar shoots upwards from the top of my head. In the center of the ray of light there is darkness, the blackness of the universe. In this infinate darkness galaxies start spinning and stars begin to glitter into view. Slowly the darkness returns one final time.
I find myself sitting quietly in the darkness. I feel at peace. I feel complete. I feel the rise and fall of my chest as I breath deeply. I hear my breath as I exhale.
This was my journey - I hope my experience illustrates the incredible tool Chakra meditation can be in helping an individual connect with the Divine. Namaste my friends!
