Date: March 21 Description: Spring Equinox The days and nights are equal in length. The Sun God is gaining power over Winter's darkness. Ostara is also celebrated as the time of courtship between the God and Goddess, in preparation for their consumation on Beltaine. Wiccans usually plant the seeds they annointed during Imbolc. Ostara is a Sabbat of Balance. It is also known as: Eoster or Lady's Day. Colors: Pastels Symbols: Eggs, Equilateral Cross, Butterflies, Flower baskets and Rabbits. Dieties: Youthful Gods and Goddesses, Warrior Gods, and Faerie Queens. Foods: Leafy green vegetables, Dairy foods, Nuts (pumpkin, sunflower, & pine), Flour dishes and Sprouts. Incense: Jasmine, Rose, Strawberry, Floral of any type. Gemstone: Jasper Activities: Planting seeds, Taking long walks in Nature for no other reason other than reflecting the magick and beauty of Nature. |
