Imbolc celebrates and honors the Goddess as the soon to be bride of the returning sun God. The arrival of plant life is whispering beneath the soil. This Sabbat is also about purification after the long winter.
It is also known as: Festival of Torches, Oimelc, Lupercalia, Feast of Pan, Snowdrop Festival, Featst of Waxing Light, Brid's Day, Bride's Day, and I'm sure many many more.
This is a traditional time for initiations into covens, self-dedication rituals can be performed and/or renewed at this time.
