BIOGRAPHY
Born on July 14th, 1952 in South Orange, New Jersey, USA, Joel Silver has become one of the most successful movie producers in the motion picture industry today, with the combined gross of his films at well over $4 billion. Silver began his career at Lawrence Gordon Productions, where he soon became President of Motion Pictures. He associated produced The Warriors, with Gordon, as well as produced the box office smash 48 HRS. with Eddie Murphy. Silver's first independent production under his Silver Pictures banner was Commando with Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1985. His resume is a mixed bag to some critics and fans. He is responsible for bestowing upon Hollywood some of the most expensive, action-packed, adrenaline flicks in Hollywood history, including Predator, the Lethal Weapon franchise, Die Hard and its sequel and The Matrix. Aside from that, he has also executive produced and directed several of the Tales from the Crypt television series, as well as the two feature length films spawned from the show: Demon Knight and Bordello of Blood. However, he is responsible for such critical drubbings as The Adventures of Ford Fairlane, Hudson Hawk and Fair Game. Needless to say, Silver always finds a way to rebound from a miss and always keep his viewers entertained by any way possible.
