The Alliance has been active for several years now: The work of previous GLBT groups on the Antelope Valley College campus including "The Triangle Club" and several other incarnations from the 80's, 90’s.
The Alliance has participated in the Los Angeles AIDS Walk, provided members with admission to the Long Beach Pride festival and Magic Mountain. There have been a number of on campus movie nights hosted by The Alliance showing films such as Boys Don't Cry, The Birdcage, The Times of Harvey Milk and others. A few very successful fundraisers have provided the club with the financial means to provide the student body with these activities, and there will be plenty more to come..

In the spring semester, you will need to submit a letter to the scholarship committee of AVC explaining why you feel you are eligible for The Alliance scholarship. Click on this link to go to the AVC scholarhips website AVC Scholarship and Financial Aid Webpage. By filling out the scholarship forms, you will let the scholarship review committee know how you shined during the semester. Not only will you be considered for The Alliance scholarship(s), but you will also be considered for several other scholarships which are set up for multiple student interests such as: hobbies, sports, education, disability, financial need, etc.
