Harry Potter and the Final Battle

                                              Chapter 1: The Night.

Harry Potter couldn’t sleep. There was snoring, so the Dursleys were asleep. The Dursleys? Harry’s fat Uncle Vernon, skinny Aunt Petunia, and his really fat cousin Dudley. They could make your life miserable if you live with them (not you in particular, but…).

No, Harry Potter was awake from excitement. He would be 17 years old in 15 more minutes. Harry leaned back and thought about his story. No, not history. His story.

There was a wizard, whose name was, by popular demand, You-Know-Who or He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named or the Dark Lord. Although his real name was Voldemort, it was a sign of how bad he was because people hardly called him that. Anyway, Voldemort (can I call him that?) came to the place Harry was living in, when Harry still lay in the cradle. Voldemort killed Harry’s parents, Lily and James Potter, but not Harry. No one knew why.

Wizards, you ask? Oh, I forgot. Harry’s a wizard. And at the end of the month he’d be going to the most magical place on earth. The wizarding school, Hogwarts.

Harry was a short, skinny boy, with black hair, and enchanting green eyes. And remember that battle with Voldemort? Harry bore one scar on his forehead, lightning-shaped. Don’t ask me about its shape. I haven’t got an inkling about it.

Click. 11:59. Now 20 seconds. 10, 5,1. " Yeah!" Harry cheered (silently).

Tap, tap, tap. Harry opened the window. Three owls flew in. One was a large snowy owl. The other, a small gray one. And the final one was tawny. Pig, the gray one, belonged to Ron; a best friend of Harry’s at Hogwarts. He was carrying a small package. Harry read the card. Ron wished him a happy birthday and told him to rub the package between his fingers. A ‘POP,’ and a set of books appeared suddenly. "The Weasley’s Magic," by the Weasley Family. Harry grinned. Ron himself was the second youngest in the Weasley family. "Dragons and the One I Raised" by Charles. "Curses to Old Egypt; A Life in the Sahara" by Bill. "Prefect and Head Boy: Get Back in Line!" by Percy. "Great Mischief Makers of The 20th Century; Who they Were, What they Did, And How to Do It" by the twins Fred and George.

He turned to the snowy owl. His Hedwig was carrying a package with a book called "How to Survive the Toughest Year" from Hermione, his other friend. The final owl brought Harry a letter from Hogwarts.

Yawning, Harry ushered Hedwig and Pig to the cage (the tawny one had already gone). And looking out the window, Harry felt great to have the kind of life that he had (except for the Dursleys and the fact that he should be living with his godfather — grrr…).
er — grrr…).ther — grrr…).
