These Chinese handpainted bottles, also known as "snuff bottles", are sold in sets, each containing four handpainted glass bottles and a closable display case to house them. 

The designs on the bottles are drawn and then painted in color. Skilled Chinese artists use a special brush that allows them to insert their brush through the top and paint from the inside rather than the outside! Each set has a certain theme, for example, a riverscene. The designs on each of the four bottles are different, however they all contribute to the main theme. The bottles vary in size and shape.

The display case protects the bottles and also describes the theme in Chinese and in English.
