The Family Quilt
They met, as many do, in college at a dorm party. She was drawn to this man with the beautiful smile, and he thought this petite blonde had spunk. So they dated, fell in love, and eventually got married. It was the storybook romance.
But it doesn't end there...no, far from it. The couple live in a small, one bedroom apartment off the main drag of their town. They are living there while they save enough money to buy a nice house.
The pair parts ways each morning; he to help people in need of environmental services and she to help people in need of medical services.
And at the end of the day, they come home to each other... to have and to hold.
Their families are always on their minds: his mother is in a far better place; his father lives down the street in the same town; her parents live a short car ride away; thirteen siblings and spouses, and two brand new nieces live from Pennsylvania to Massachusetts.
These people are patches that make up the fabric of this couple's lives; relationships between the members are the threads that make the cloth of the family strong. And from these threads come new pieces of cloth. When sewn together with the thread of family ties, a stronger, more useful unit is formed.
It is known as: The Crowell Family Quilt. |
