Sixth Grade Language Arts |
The sixth grade Language Arts curriculum covers many different reading and writing strategies. Students learn to become active readers and thinkers, understanding text of increasing difficulty. Students are also introduced to many new writing styles. They will begin to develop narrative, descriptive, clarification and point of view pieces. They will also begin to experiment with poetry. |
Mr. William Ferriter is the primary Language Arts teacher on the Bears team. Bill is the most experienced Bears teacher, entering his tenth year as an educator. He has Master's degree in Advanced Teaching Techniques and is a Nationally Board Certified Teacher. He is a huge Buffalo Bills and Sabres fan. He also collects Pez Dispensers. |
Mr. Ferriter loves to work his students hard! He tries to instill a sense of determination and drive in each pupil. Students will learn to revise and edit their writing for grammatical and content errors. They will also be given the chance to grow as thinkers! |
While working hard, however, Mr. Ferriter's students often have a great time! Mr. Ferriter is a legendary story teller and he has a way of writing songs about every classroom happening. His room is often full of laughs and smiles and is rarely dull! |
