Christian's

This show was in our friend Christian's garage.  He lives in New Richland, a little town just southeast of Mankato, MN.  Though it's a small town, it's pretty tightly packed with houses.  Yes sir, I would say Christian has about 8 neighbors within 200 feet of his house.  Did I mention we played in his strangely sound-amplifing garage?  Anyway, it was set to be a three- band show, with us playing the middle spot and Laundry 518 (from Waseca) first.  The Privies were supposed to play last, but their drummer, Luke, was in a car accident earlier that day and hurt his leg.  Luckily, he and everyone involved in the accident escaped serious injury.  But The Privies couldn't play.  And that was probably a good thing because the police came twice during Laundry's ultra-punk (and very entertaining) set.  I shouldn't actually say they were super-punk, but they did play melodic music loudly and at a relatively fast tempo.  They're fun to watch, so you should definitely go see them if you have a chance.  The police certainly had a chance, as there were three seperate complaint calls while Laundry rocked.  The officer who dealt with us was inordinately nice and gave us a chance to continue, provided we garner no further complaints.  "Great," I thought, "WE don't have to rock so hard."  Unfortunately, we did.  The police came and shut us down five songs into our set, which is unfortunate because I don't think our instruments have ever blended as nicely as they did  that night in Christian's garage.
