notes/song facts This was recorded in Jamaica. Elton went to the island with a bunch of lyrics that Taupin had given him, and wrote a bunch of songs that became Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.
Elton performed this on Soul Train, becoming one of the few white performers to play the show (David Bowie is another).
