Final Fantasy VII is
without a doubt one of the best RPG games of all time. It's mesmerising
storyline, original 3D graphics and emotional music will have you addicted
for weeks. It was the first Final Fantasy game to appear on the
PlayStation, and was also the first to use fully rendered 3D graphics.
Many people even prefer FF7 to its predecessor, FF8.
The story is fantastic.
You play as Cloud Strife, an ex-soldier who was working for an evil
company called Shinra. As the game starts, you are working for a group of
activists called Avalanche. You must blow up a Shinra Reactor, one of many
that are sucking the planet's life force called Mako. As the game
progresses, you discover many facts about Cloud's past, Shinra and the
main bad guy, Sephiroth. You have many rivals in the game, including a guy
with a gun for an arm, an orange dog that talks and a chick with the
biggest boobies you've ever seen.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cloud Strife: A man with
spiky hair and a really weird past. He is the main character of the story.
Tifa Lockhart: Tifa is
bright and optimistic, and an old friend of Cloud's.
Barret Wallace: Barret is
a giant man with a gun on his arm and a bit of a sad past. He has a
daughter, Marlene.
Red XIII: Red XIII is a
mysterious dog character the others found at the Shinra building.
Cid Highwind: Cid is an
old wannabe pilot. He always has a cigarette in his mouth.
Aeris Gainsborough: Aeris
is a mysterious girl, and is known as the "Last Ancient". She is
a good fighter, but is wanted by Shinra. A lot of the story revolves
around her.
Vincent: Vincent is the
most mysterious guy of the team. He is an optional character, who the team
find in a coffin.
Yuffie: Another optional
character. It may not look like it, but Yuffie comes from a long line of
Ninja.

Final Fantasy VII was the
first FF game to use 3D graphics. Although they seem very out of date
today, they were great in their time. The CG movies look cool, but most of
the time the people have certain deformities such as cubes for hands. The
battle scenes were cool too, and some of the Summoning monsters were the
best around.
The music is exceptional.
It features many rememberable tunes, including the Aeris theme and the
annoying Cosmo Canyon Theme. It fits in well with the game and is yet
another great feature.
FF7 features a cool magic
system called materia. You collect small balls that you can use to cast
magic spells or summon monsters. To have materia equipped to people, you
must attach them to your weapon. Different weapons have different amounts
of slots to put materia in.
Overall, Final Fantasy VII
is a masterpiece of a game. It's overwhelming storyline and other various
features have made it a definite classic. Well worth buying.
