After the Booze Bros. departed, old friends Steve Challis & Al Saunders met me in Bella Bella. After re-provisioning, fueling & icing we returned to the magnificent Estevan Sound area where weather was calm & sunny. As the sun sets in one of our desolate anchorages another exceptional dinner is being prepared on the BBQ of Salmon & grilled peppers.
As a special shore adventure we hike to a remote lake on Campania Is. Here we enjoy a swim and welcome the opportunity to clean up. On this little journey we’ll pack some ice, cups and ingredients to mix Cuba Libras to enjoy along with an exquisite Cigar whilst at our private swimming hole. The trek to the lake takes about 15 minutes over some especially fascinating terrain with ancient wind swept “Bonsai” pine trees and smooth, dark granite boulders that radiate the absorbed  heat of the Sun. The view of Mt. Pender and the scenery in general from the lake adds further interest to the experience.
A chilly, foggy morning on the fishing hole.
Towards the end of this leg Al, Steve & I maxed out the cooler space on board during a strong morning bite. What a superb way to end off their trip.
