Thanks go to Simon Parry from Leicester, who has been keeping tabs on Steve Jordan. Steve Jordan himself got in touch with more too! Thanks go to Steve for clarifying the information shown below and for supplying the above photograph.
Profile: Steve Jordan: Steve began his career at Lincs FM in 1993, where, after being discovered by David Lloyd, he went on to present the breakfast show. In 1995, he left to return to his hometown of Hull and a move to Viking FM where he stayed for three and a half years. In 1998, David Lloyd poached him to take him to what was then the Border Radio station Century 106 in the East Midlands.
For his first year at Century, he presented the station's breakfast show, and was a huge hit across the region. Simon Parry says that the show was '...in my opinion one of the best breakfast shows the station has ever had, and his legendary OFF THE HOOK competition generated thousands of calls every day (especially the one that got to about £3000!)'. In early 2000 he was moved to the afternoon show where he remained for the rest of his time at Century 106 / 106 Century FM, although he did do holiday cover on the breakfast show). He covered the breakfast show for a few weeks following the departure of Ian Skye, but a new presenter was appointed (Graham Mack) and Steve moved back to afternoons.
Steve left Century in November 2001 for the last time, moving to 105.4 Leicester Sound where he presented the morning show 9:00am - 2:00pm and Saturday breakfast 6:00am-10:00am. He spent all of 2002 at Leicester Sound, with his last show for the station aired on New Years' Eve 2002.
Whereabouts: After leaving Leicester Sound, he went back to his roots once more, but this time in the studio next door to Viking FM, presenting Breakfast on Magic 1161 in Hull where he remains to this day. He also works in local television, presenting two shows a week on York TV, based unsurprisingly enough, in York!
