SCOTLAND

BBC RADIO: 

BBC RADIO SCOTLAND opened on 23rd November 1978 taking over from Radio 4 Scotland.  It provides a national service on FM frequencies 92-95FM & 810 MW.  

BBC RADIO NAN EILEAN was the first Gaelic language service, and commenced on 5th October 1979.  Six years later, in the October of 1985, it merged with Radio na Gaidhealtachd (which was a Gaelic opt-out of Radio Highland - see below) and became BBC Radio Nan Gaidhead.  It broadcasts on 103.5 - 105FM.  

Auntie doesn't provide BBC Local Radio for Scotland - but it did!
