2002 History
Tuesday, December 17th:
Conestoga High School's school newspaper,
The Spoke, published an
article (see also our
notes on it) about the Javawocky (Volume 53 No. 3, on page19).
Saturday, December 7th: The third Javawocky. Not quite as many people as last time, but still fun. Pictures: Our
CSPs, part of Detour to 14th Street (
talking and
playing) who played three numbers, various
people following Chris, the
Happy Day Blues,
poetry by Billy Collins, Poet Laureate, a
rant about 'safety' pins,
violin performance of several short pieces, a Dr. Seuss-like story entitled
Man-In-Pants, and another round of fourth-party
political debate. Also, the (voulantary) use of our
J. stamp (pictured here on one of our flyers) was instated. (Photo notes: The bluriness is due to long exposure time to avoid using the flash and shaky holding. Anyone wishing to print photos may request higher-dpi copies.)
Saturday, November 2nd: The second Javawocky. We had a much larger crowd this time, with performances of various sorts to the end. Many thanks to all involved, performing and attending and chaperoning and staffing! There are numerous pictures:
setup, thank-you note
signing, performances of various sorts including
saxophone,
hostpitable orating (MC),
guitar, use of the
costume materials after pre-planned acts,
poetry, and
story-telling (with background music).
Monday, October 7th: A second article, about the October 5th Javawocky, appeared in the Suburban and Wayne Times. (This one did not appear online.)
Saturday, October 5th: The first Javawocky. We had fun performing for and with each other and talking, despite low non-staff attendance and a bit of a slow start. There are a pair of pictures from it; the
first is of the preparation for a poem on the definition of a silly word - a conglomeration of the descriptions or examples of all present, and the
second is of the second iteration of said poem (the first having been a single-person reading).
Monday, October 4th: The Javawocky was featured in the
Suburban and Wayne Times. Read the
article!
The next Javawocky will be
