TLP is a melodic hard-core band from the St. Louis
area, and this is their story:
The original vision began well over 2 years ago with Dave and Jacob,
along with two past members, Wes Hoffman and Jake Torbeck, who made
up the punk band Samus.
Drummer Jake Torbeck left in early February 2002, allowing Kevin
Krauss to take his place. That March, Samus changed its name to
The Livingston Project, due to a Mariachi band of the same name
threatening to sue the guys.
TLP had early success. Stlpunk.com users voted the guys their favorite
St. Louis band, and they released their Show Me a Hero EP
with five memorable songs. Thing were looking well, but when vocalist
Wes Hoffman left the band in August 2002, the guys were uncertain
about the band’s future. Sean Baltzell entered as a fill-in
guitarist, and a few different vocalists were considered. Sean's
friend, Doug Walker was enlisted in mid-September to become TLP's
voice. Other recent changes have been the exit of Kevin and the
entrance of Sean’s brother, Seth as drummer, along with the
addition of Nick Schaflein on keyboards.
Each change has brought a new drive to TLP, and old Samus fans
can’t complain. This band has progressed dramatically in the
past 6 months, and fans can look forward to hard rock that is unlike
anything else they've heard. As the saying goes, the future
is upon us! |
