I didn't know I was lost until you found me,
Didn't see the darkness till you showed me the light,
I didn't know love till you put it all around me,
I didn't see my fear till you put it to flight.

I didn't know I was empty till you filled me,
Didn't feel my pain until you eased it away,
I didn't recognize the sin that would've killed me
Till you forgave and forgot it on that beautiful day.

I never knew I was separate from you
and constantly being deceived,
But I heard the truth, and I heard the angels
Rejoice when I first believed.

You pulled me out of the wickedness around me;
I thought I was smart until you made me wise.

my heart would always be grieved.

Somtimes people bother me
with talk of deep theology,
they say they have authority
and this's how you must act;
Hey, it's not works that hold the key,
and it's not man's philosophy;
The only truth that's set me free
is just this simple fact:
