The enemy is apathy The enemy's timidity,
The enemy's discouragement
When the enemy brings sickness The enemy is poverty; The enemy is selfishness, So if your life is full of strife
The Overcomers
Everyone's life is filled with
strife
and pain that seems to numb him;
God tells us
we have an enemy
and we can overcome him.
It seems
the world is full of sadness,
overrun by sin.
Why
not? God says there's an enemy--
So let the fight
begin!
when I should walk in
love,
and I defeat that enemy
with power from
above.
the enemy is fear.
I
can defeat that enemy
when I know God is near.
that eats away my heart;
but I remember I am God's
and Satan has no part
it seems that I must
yield,
but I know that Jesus bore it all
and by His
stripes I'm healed.
it steals my
joy for living.
I defeat that enemy
when I take God's
word in giving.
the enemy is
sin.
I've overcome that enemy
for I've let Jesus
in.
and pain that
seems to numb you,
remember, Jesus won the
victory.
The enemy can't overcome you.
The world may
seem confusing
and hard to find your way,
but you
overcome every enemy
when you walk with Jesus each
day.
Lost and alone, I reach out to You,
Help me, my Lord, to know what to do --
To know right from wrong, to know false from true,
To stay on the path that leads closer to you---
What ever I do, wherever I go,
I can ask for your help cause I know that you know---
You walked this road before,
You bore all my trials, and more,
You were tempted in all things, exactly like me,
But fron sin's opression you kept yourself free,
When I feel weary, with too heavy a load,
I can follow you , because you've walked this road.
You lived in the world, you lived among men,
You taught and you healed again and again,
And you took the nails on calvary's tree,
And you died my death, and you set me free!
When sorrow abounds, when hurt overflows,
I'm not alone, I'm with someone who knows;
You know my fear, and you know what I dare
So I reach out to you, cause I know that you care.
And whatever I do, wherever I go,
I can ask for your help cause I know that you know--
You walked this road before,
