Chapter 3
A little while later....
"Hey guys, dont you think maybe we should go
downstairs and sign some autographs or something
before we leave for the venue?" JC asked the others.
"But Justin just got in the shower." Lance said
"Yeah I mean...heaven forbid they'd have to get
OUR autographs instead of Justin's" Chris said
sarcastically.
"Thats not what I meant." Lance said
"Yeah but you were thinking it."
"Well maybe.."
"Guys??" JC said interrupting them.
"Yeah?" Chris and Lance said.
"Why dont we go on down there, Justin can come
down when he's done. You wanna go Joey?"
"Sure. Might as well."
The guys started to leave the room, Chris stopped
in front of the door of the bathroom Justin was in
and knocked on it.
Knock-knock... "Justin?"
...No answer
Knock-knock... "Justin?"
...No answer
Knock-knock... "Justin?"
...still no answer, finally Chris heard him turn
the water off.
"What?" Justin yelled from the shower
"We're gonna go on down and talk to the fans, are
you about done?"
"No.."
"Then why did you turn the water off?"
"Because you were knocking."
"Oh. Well were gonna go on downstairs ok?"
"Allright." Justin said turning the water back
on.
"Are you going Dani?" Chris asked her.
"No I think I'll just stay up here and wait for
Justin."
"Hey Justin!" Chris yelled through the door
again. "Dani's gonna stay up here with ya Ok?"
"Huh?"
"What?" Chris yelled back.
"Chris I cant keep turning the water on and off
Allright?"
"Ok cya."
"What??"
"I said C-YA!"
"Ok." Justin yelled back still unsure of what
Chris had told him.
Dani was laying on her stomach on one of the
beds, flipping through the TV. She layed her head
down and turned her back to the door of the bathroom
just when she heard Justin turn off the water and
step out. "Man he gets dressed quick..." Dani thought to herself as she turned over and saw him standing
there adjusting the towell wrapped around his waist.
"Dani!" Justin said in shock almost dropping his
towel. "I thought you went down with the others, I
didnt even know you were still up here!"
"Chris told you I was staying up here."
"Oh..thats what he was telling me..Im sorry, I
wouldve got dressed if I knew you were still out
here."
"You dont have to apologize." She said, then
quickly turned her head in the opposite direction
when she realized that she just said that out loud.
"Well..yeah I do." Justin said not catching on.
"I mean its not exactly polite to walk around in a
towell in front of somebody."
"Its ok Justin.." Dani said staring at the TV.
Trying her best not to make eye contact with him but
her eyes kept trailing back towards him. It was like
some magnetic force or something. "God girl stop
staring at him like he's a piece of meat!" She
thought to herself.
"Well Ill go change now." Justin said faintly
smiling and started to walk back into the bathroom.
Dani turned around to watch him and saw something on
his back...
"Hey wait!" she said getting up and running over
to him.
"What?"
"Turn back around."
"Why...?" Justin said turning around.
"So Thats where it is!"
"What?!?" Justin said laughing hysterically.
"Thats where WHAT is?" he said facing her.
"Your other tattoo!..Why what did you think
I..JUSTIN!" Dani yelled as Justin continued to laugh
at her while her face turned red.
"We're you looking at my bum?"
"Justin..shut..up"
"Bum looker!"
"NO, Mr. Powers I was looking at your tattoo on your lower back."
"Ya like it?"
"Yeah its cute. I was wondering where it was at."
"Yeah you and 50 thousand other girls."
"I guess you wont be showing that one off in Bop
magazine huh?" She said laughing.
"No I guess not." He said staring into her big
blue eyes. "Soo...Do you have any tattoos?"
"Nope."
"Really? Or you just dont wanna show me?"
"No really I dont. I always wanted to get a.."
Dani stopped suddenly, not wanting to tell him what
kind she wanted.
"A what?" Justin said crossing his arms.
"Nothing."
"Well now Im curious."
"And that means your not gonna give up right?"
she said laughing.
"You know me too well Dani."
"Ok fine..I wanted a tattoo of the Nsync flame on
my ankle." she said staring at the floor.
"Awww how cute!!!" Justin said smiling. "Just
like mine?"
"Well no not like that..like the logo. You know
the..umm old one."
"Oh. That would be cute. You know if..we could
still USE that logo." He said pausing with a look of
anger on his face. "But we wont get into that."
"No..we probably shouldnt."
"You know what?"
"What?"
"Im cold!" He said rubbing his hands on his arms.
"Well no wonder silly go put your clothes on."
"Hey thats a thought." He said shrugging his
shoulders and going back in the bathroom.
Dani sat
back down on the edge of the bed and fell backwards
on it and closed her eyes.
"What have I gotten myself into this time??",/i> She
thought to herself as she lay there thinking about
Justin standing there in a towell..right out of the
shower so he was nice and wet and ..."
"Dani? You asleep?"
"No." she said smiling.
"Dani??" Justin said nudging her as she opened
her eyes and jumped up after realizing it was him.
"Sorry..I was in a daze or something."
"With your eyes closed?"
"Yeah something like that.." She said getting up
and following him out the door.
Later that night on the tour bus, Dani tossed and
turned in her bunk. She hadnt sleep hardly any all
night. Something was bothering her but she couldnt
quite figure out what it was. Finally she closed her
eyes and started to drift off to sleep...
"Dani?"
"Hmm?"
"Are you awake?"
"Justin?" Dani said turning over. Justin was
kneeling outside her bunk. "Is something wrong?"
"I cant sleep."
"Ive had the same problem."
"Dani?"
"Yeah?"
"I cant sleep because I cant stop thinking about
you."
Dani stared at him wide-eyed then he leaned over
and started to crawl in her bunk.
"Justin I.."
"If you dont want me to I wont." He said backing
away.
"I didnt say that."
"Well ok then." He said smiling as her crawled in
the bunk over top of her. He gazed into her eyes and
started slowly running his fingers down the side of
her face.
"Justin..." Dani whispered to him
"Shhh.." he said leaning closer to her and
lightly brushed his lips against hers. Dani kissed
him back and closed her eyes..her heart was beating
so fast it felt like it was going to explode and
then...
She woke up.
She sat straight up in her bunk with a jerk,
only the thing is..the bunks are so small that you
cant sit straight up in them. Dani ended up
ramming her head into the bottom of JC's bunk.
"Ow." She said quietly while laying back down and
rubbing her head, praying that she didnt wake JC up.
Then she heard him moving around. "Great." She
thought to herself, "I just woke the dead."
"Dani?" JC said leaning over the edge of his
bunk.
"Hmm?" She said still holding her head
"Are you ok?" JC said laughing.
"I hit my head."
"So I heard. Dont worry we all do it. Just be
glad youre not on the top bunk with the mirrored
ceiling."
"Yeah, thats true. Sorry for waking you up."
"Oh its ok." JC said getting up and looking at
his watch."Its almost time to get up anyway. Might as
well get on up."
"Yeah I guess so." Dani said getting up and
following him into the kitchen area.
"Want some cereal?"
"Sure."
JC got them out some bowls and milk and fixed
them some cereal. They sat there a while in silence
then he looked up at her.
"So what was the dream about?"
"Huh?" Dani said startled
"The dream. Usually when people sit straight up
in the bed like that its because of a dream."
"Oh..yeah." Dani said stirring her cereal around.
"Was it a nightmare?"
"No."
"Just wondering, you seemed kinda shook up."
"I just rammed my head into a big metal..thing!"
she said laughing. "No it wasnt a bad dream."
"So why were you so upset?"
"I wasnt upset its just..."
"Just...?"
"It was..a good dream...ya know?" she said
staring at JC hoping that he would pick up on it so
that she wouldnt have to explain it any furthur.
"Ohhhh I see!" JC said smiling. "Dani! Shame on
you."
"I cant help it! It was a dream." She said
laughing
"Who was it about?"
"Oh..umm..nobody."
"Somebody I know?"
"No..no I..I dont even know..who It..who it was."
"Dani?"
"Yeah?"
"You're pathetic at lying."
"I know." she said frowning and staring back at
her cereal.
"Sooo..Tell me who it was."
"No JC."
"Awww come on."
"No!"
"Ok well was it somebody on this bus?"
"Im not playing 20 questions JC"
"Was it?"
"yes." She said rolling her eyes.
"Ok I know it wasnt me..." He said thinking.
"Why not?"
"Because Dani, I know you embarress very eaisily
and if you had a dream like that about me you wouldnt
be able to sit here and look me in the eye, am I
right?"
"Yeah."
"Wow am I in heaven cause Im witnessing a
miracle." Chris said walking over to them. "JC is up
before sunrise?"
"Ha ha.."
"Dani? Did you know you have this big red knot on
the side of your.."
"Yes Chris.." she said
"What happened? Did you wake up JC and he sucker
punched ya?"
"Yeah Chris thats exactly what happened. JC
spazzed out on me. You all knew it was gonna happen.
I just had to be the first victim." Dani said
sarcastically.
"Hey. Theres only room for one sarcastic person
on this bus!" Chris said
"Ok..thats two down, its not Chris." JC said
looking at Dani.
"Huh? Its not me what? You lost me."
"Dani had a nice little dream about
somebody on this bus but she wont tell me
who."
"Oh..I bet I know who."
"Yeah me too but I just like messing with her. Ok
Dani that leaves Lance, Joey and ..wait that other
guy..hmmmm whatshisface.."
"Jordan..Jerome..Johnny...Jimmy.." Chris said
"No no thats not it." JC said pretending to
think. Dani stared at them while tapping her fingers
on the table.
"Are we having a group meeting?" Joey said
yawning and joining them along with Lance.
"Yeah we're trying to think of a plan to kick you
out of the group..oops." Chris said.
"Thats nice." Joey said nodding. "You kicking
Lance out too?"
"No we gotta keep him. Mississippi Albinos are
rare."
"Chris thats getting old." Lance whined
"Yeah but its still funny."
"Ok back to Dani.." JC chimed in.
"Yeah back to Dani!!" Chris said
"No no..how about not back to Dani?" she said
"No thats no fun." Chris said waving his hand
"Now what was that other guy's name Chris?" JC
started again
"Hmmm it starts with a J.."
"Could it be..."
"Justin!" Chris shouted.
"What?" Justin said groggly walking towards them.
Dani felt her face turning diffrent shades of red. JC
looked at her and smiled.
"What Chris?" Justin said
"Good morning."
"Yeah...same to you." Justin said staring at
Chris like he was insane.
"Dani?" he said looking
over at her.
"Hmmm?"
"Are you running a fever?"
"No why?"
"Your cheeks look awfully red I was just
wondering."
JC and Chris burst out laughing, Dani kicked them
from under the table. "No Justin Im fine thanks for
asking.
"No problem." He said fixing himself a bowl of
cereal while the other 4 guys stared at him and
smiled.
"What?!?!" Justin said getting aggravated.
Quickly he looked up in the mirror, making sure his
hair hadnt been dyed like Joey's.
"Your hair is fine Curly." Chris said
"Then why are you all staring at me like that."
"We're not. Your paranoid. I think the road is
getting to ya."
Justin stared at his friends once again then sat
down to eat.
