TOSOF
The Other
Side Of Faith is a Louth based punk/metal/grunge band.
With its 4 members; Al (guitar), Dan (drums), Mills (bass) and Fauld
(guitar),
they play gigs around Lincolnshire
Originally the
band was a 3 piece containing Al, Dan and Hazz who
played keyboard. After a
couple of months they asked Mills to be their
bassist and the band turned
into a 4 piece.
As time passed
the band agreed that a keyboard didnt fit with the style of
music they wanted
to play. Hazz left the band, as he never wanted it to
be more than a hobby.
He is still a close friend of the band.
Back as a 3
piece, they felt something was missing: another guitarist.
2 Months after
Hazz had left; Broome entered the band as a second
guitarist. Now that the
band was complete and after much practise, they
were offered their first gig
at the Playgoers in Louth by Soundlincs in
2001. After a few more gigs with
Soundlincs, the band felt they were
ready to start playing bigger gigs. They
signed up with Solid
Entertainments as a
support group for bands like Brutal
DeLuxe,
Kennedy
Soundtrack, Miocene, 4ft Fingers, Caffeine, Nerve and
70s
punks: The Damned
The band went
steady until 1,5 years later, when problems within the
band arose. Motivation
started to slip and it got to certain members.
Conflicts began and eventually
Broome was asked to leave the band.
Replacement was
soon found, as Fauld was a guitar-playing friend of the
band. Pressure was on
because his debut gig was only 2 weeks after he
joined TOSOF. It also was the
biggest Christmas gig in Lincolnshire ever
with 40 bands playing.
After
turning up late, the rest went well; their set was a success.
Presently the
band is writing new songs and is planning to record their
debut album.
