Chapter Seven: Getting Rid of Brandy

Brandy. What kind of a name was that anyway? I couldn't think of any reason a parent would name their child after a drink they wouldn't be able to drink for the first twenty-one years of their life.

Of course I wouldn't be surprised if Brandy was the type of girl that didn't let technicalities like that stop her.

The first night Ike brought her home she patted me on the head and said,"what a sweet little sister you have here, Clarke!"It was all downhill from there.

I mean, why she started calling him Clarke I'll never know. Nobody had called him that for years. Not even Mom and Dad. Heck, I don't really know why they didn't just name him Isaac Clarke. Or just ditch the Clarke. I never liked that name anyway.

Back to Brandy. The girl was evil. I could see it in her eyes. I half though she was some sort of brain-sucking alien that was out to destroy our entire family.

And no, I am not overreacting.

Not to mention Mom and Dad loved her. Even Jennifer knew her and thought she was sweet. Apparently her younger sister used to hang out with her. She went on and on about how considerate Brandy was when she stayed overnight at their house.

Gag me with a spoon.

"So why don't they hang out anymore?"I asked her.

There was a silence on the line."I don't know. One day they were the best of friends and the next they didn't even seem to be on speaking terms."

So obviously the logical thing to do was to talk to Jennifer's sister. I waited a few hours until I knew Jennifer was at work and dialed the Galipoux's number again.

"Hi, is Jaime there?"I asked sweetly.

"Hang on."I heard shouting in the background and a few seconds later I heard a girl's voice say,"Hello?"

"Hey, my name is Jessi. Listen, my big brother's dating a girl named Brandy Wilcox and I'm really worried about him. I wanted to see if I could find out a little about her. I heard you guys used to be friends."

Jaime let out a big sigh."Yeah, I knew her."

"Knew? Don't you guys still hang out?"

"Not after I saw what she does to Kurt Barry."

"Kurt Barry?"Now I had something to work with."Who's that?"

"Oh, he's her boyfriend."

"Boyfriend?"

"Yeah, they've been going out for like forever. He left for college last year and she's been dating other guys behind her back ever since. This time I heard about her latest love and she's been bragging about how because he's home-schooled she doesn't have to worry about him finding out about Kurt."

I smiled."Why thank you Jaime, you've been very helpful."

"No problem. Hey, I hope your brother doesn't get hurt."

"Me too."

* * *

Okay, I may be annoying, but I'm not mean. Ike was not going to take this well. I had been planning on revealing whatever bad things I'd collected about Brandy over a nice family meal, but considering the circumstances, I though it might be a bit much.

This was between me and Brandy.

It wasn't going to be pretty.
