Keep up to date with what's been happening!

Summer 2002
We haven't recorded any songs as a band yet but hope to do so this
year, up to now we have played at a number of gigs and have been busy compiling a
wide range of songs for when we begin recording.
I have got the band a possible gig next year at Morley Youth
Club but dates are yet to be arranged.
Our next big gig is the Talent Show at Heanor Gate School
which we have been preparing for, for about a year!! We are performing
'Everybody Needs somebody To Love' as the Blues Brothers. We have gained
lots of support from people at school and we hope we have a good chance of
winning!
Winter 2002
We have just had a busy month with lots of Christmas gigs the
first of which was a whole day of assemblies where we performed for each year in
school. After the fourth assembly we had to rush off to Mundy Street
Primary School, Heanor to play our first primary school gig. This was an end of
term show for the school which went down fantastically!
In the new year, we plan to begin a small tour of a number of
local primary schools in Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire, if they go as well as
the one at Mundy Street we should be in for a very enjoyable 2003!
Following a recent trip by one of the band members to Germany
we have secured a gig in a hotel sum time in the near future. This is a
major event for the band and we are all very excited although there are still
many arrangements to be made.

Spring 2003
It looks like 2003 will have a lot in store for The
PollyRhythmics. Not only are we planning to record our very first album,
but we are also now hitting Europe; as we have secured a gig at the hotel
Erholung in Germany!!
So we'll have to wait and see what else the new year brings!!
Summer 2003
Finally summer has arrived and has seen the most eventful few
months the PollyRhythmics have had to date. It began with a gig at Leicester
Collage with a 60s theme which proved to be a huge success and also provided us
with a number of live recordings ready for our first album!
A couple of days later we were loading up the gear again
ready for the trip to the hotel Erholung in Germany were we stayed for a week
and played a number of gigs there and in the local area at various bars and restaurants.
This week probably tested our teem work and tolerance of each other more than
any other. We are sure that the memory of the first gig in the hotel will
never leave us as it was a shocking experience! Once again we recorded
every gig live as well as recording some new material in the comfort of our
hotel room.
By the end of the week we had enough material recorded for us
to start compiling our very first album. We wanted to complete it in time
before we left so we could leave all of our hosts a memory of us. This
resulted in long nights of editing and recompiling the recordings and searches
throughout the days for blank CDs, cases and pens as we had arrived totally unprepared
for such a task. In the end we finished up with a 22 track album with a
total playing time of over an hour! After long debates about the name of
the album we finally agreed on 'What did you do today?' as the title. This
came from an event involving a young guy who worked at our hotel but if you want
to know the full story behind it just ask one of the members of the band.
There is still one thing that all of our latest gigs have in
common, including the PollyRhythmics second gig at Mundy Street Junior School,
that there has been a different member of the band missing which has just been a
great coincidence, you can see who be checking out the Gig Guide page. So
we can only wait and look forward to the next gig with all bend members present
once again!
