Season Six (2001-02)
6. 2 "Killing Times"
From TV
Guide
Two compelling actors guest
star in an insightful episode with a prison backdrop.
Charles S. Dutton plays
convicted murderer Leonard Marshall, who's up for parole and
still maintains to Eugene that he's innocent. Another plot
centers on death-row inmate Walter Dawson (Steve Railsback, who
played Charles Manson in the 1976 teleplay “Helter
Skelter”). Dawson is a repentant cutthroat who accepts his
fate. But that's not acceptable to Rebecca, who takes up his
appeal---and takes on his disdainful lawyer (Ron Silver). Also,
there's a telling follow-up to the complex homicide case of
now-jailed politico Keith Ellison (Dylan Baker). Vivian
Marshall: Gloria Gifford. Marsha Ellison: Virgnia Madsen. Judge
Keller: Michael Kagan.

"Killing Time"
9/30/01
After Ellenor learns that it was really Senator Ellison's wife
who committed the murder, she wants to have charges pressed
against the woman. However, her admission of guilt must be
kept secret because of attorney/client privilege, so Ellenor
cannot move forward.
Meanwhile, Rebecca is disillusioned when she assists one of
the country's leading opponents of the death penalty.
