Making Aged Looking Paper

What you need

You will need unlined white paper, a few orange pekoe(normal) tea bags, a tub or tray of some sort that is large enoungh that you would be able to fully submerce a piece of your paper in it (a dish pan is ideal), and a candle (underaged children should skip the candle part unless supervised).

What to Do
STEP 1: Put about two inches of very warm water in the bottom of your tray then add tea bags depending on how dark you would like the paper to be. Stir around until the water is a dark maroon color (the color of pekoe tea when prepared).

STEP 2:Put Paper in the water one sheet at a time, take out when you feel the paper has absorbed enough color.

STEP 3:Hang or lay flat the paper until it is completely dry, if you don't want your pages to have that wrinkled look you can put each sheet between pieces of waxed paper and place them between the pages of a book.

STEP 4: Once the paper is completely dry tear little bits of the entire edge of each sheet. Don't tear off too much.

STEP 5: Light your candle and lightly burn along the edge of the paper. MAKE SURE you DON'T hold the candle in one spot too long or you may burn off more than you intended. Be sure to hold a safe distance from your face and hair and have a glass or bucket of water near by just in case you need it. Make sure each piece is completely out before setting it down. Children should not do this step unless supervised by an adult.

NOW YOU ARE DONE!
