As a little boy Jacky liked to listen to the music of Alan Tam, Kit Kwan and Sam hui. He started getting into Foreign Music during his High School years. He became fond of the Beatles and Deep Purple. He liked every aspect of Music and become very fascinated with it. Jacky started a band with some friends during High School. They entered some competitions, but never really amounted to much.

Jacky never attended college. He had various jobs after High School. He even worked as a karaoke singer for a bar. His last job before he became famous was a ticket clerk for Cathy Way Airlines®

Jacky entered the 18th Districts Singing Competition in 1986. He sang the song . He was awarded first prize....he went on to sign with Polygram Records Ltd®.

Jacky was an immediate success. His first album went platinum almost immediately. He was awarded with a Gold Song Award by RTHK® in 1987. People liked Jacky because he looked like the average person, but with a tad bit more charm and talent. Soon Jacky got into movies.

Making movies and music...that was a bit too much for Jacky to handle. He started to stray away from the quality of his music for a while. His acting was incredible...he even won a Golden Horse Award for "Best Supporting Actor" in the Wong Kar Wai film "As Tears Go By", but his albums were selling less then 100,000 copies. That was when his manager, Micheal Au, told Jacky that he must make a choice between making movies and music. Jacky of course chose the latter. He put movies on hold. He immediately put all his concentration on music and worked very hard for a couple of months awaiting the release of his album entitled "Uncontrollable Passion". Once again Jacky was releasing platinum worthy albums again. The song "Love You A Bit More Each Day" propelled the album to receive many awards.

Now Jacky has become one of the most popular and most liked singers in the entertainment industry today. I wish Jacky the greatest and may he bring us the best songs, always.
