The Codex of Shapes gives us no explanation as to why our fur is completely white, some writings suggest that it was a curse, others decree it was a blessing. We rule the far North where our fur is a benefit when the snow falls year round. We live by the Codex of Shapes as did our ancestors before us. It is this link to the past that we believe keeps us alive. Only with the knowledge of the past can we understand today. We shall lie in wait until a sign is given for us to return to our rightful place.
Our History is a long string of battles against the outer world. Our Values guide us through this world. Our ancestors decreed that with our white fur came pride and unrenowned bravery. But that we also must remember to be grateful and not take anything for granted. White is the color of purity, of holiness, white is the color of death, and of sympathy. So The Ghost Claws wait, wait for their time of pennance to be up to claim our rightful place. The Alpha, our leader, and member of the Council of the Seven Clans, is the oldest and wisest among us. LoneWatcher guides us with the strength of the Gods and the wit of all the years he has seen. He is our finest warrior and as General, leads us into battle. When a new member is born, they are taken out by their mothers beneath a full moon and give the rites of The Ghost Claws. From that moment on they are forever bound to the tribe by not only color, but the claw around their neck which was taken from an ancestor who died and given in honor to a new birth.
Religion is lead by our Priest DreamDweller. We give offerings to the ancestors in return for their guidance. A celebration is held under the first full moon of each year. On this night members of The Ghost Claws may go into the forest, into seclusion and ask the ancestors for an answer. When the sun rises the next morning those who were true in their askings return, while those who did not give the utmost respect were driven mad with the presence of an ancestor in their mind.
We wear no decorations exept for the piercings which are representative of what family we belong to. Sometimes, when the snow has not fallen, we wear cloaks of dark colors to hide us in the night.
Our Seer, StarJudge, gives us each a look into the past. This is important to our clan because we follow the Old Ways and wish respect from our ancestors. The twin sisters DuskDancer & DawnDancer are famous for their encounter with a spirit in a cave during the Celebration of the New Moon. Those who look for answers they cannot find often search out the Sisters for help.
