How do you get to be a Shadetree Mechanic?  We all start out pretty much the same way.  Our first set of wheels is usually not the most reliable and if we want to go anywhere we have to fix the transportation before we use the transportation.  The bike always has a flat, the cycle always needs a new sprocket and the car always needs a new....everything.  After a while your friends start to figure out that you have enough tools and they don't have to get any themselves.  Then they figure out that you can be talked into using your tools on their stuff.  Sound familiar?
