Grandfather Gara
Grnadfather Gara or Grandfather Turtle is a titanic landturtle that lives deep in the Deep Desert. He is the only creature that doesn't fear the great worms that roam there. The only real creature in the Deep Desert that could pose a threat to Gara is the Godworm Shaihulud. However, Gara doesn't fear him, because he is protected by an extremely tough shell and is a lot smarter. On top of that, his entire back is covered with huge, sharp, green crystals. These crystals, which are in fact a symbiotic lifeform, serve both as protection and as nourishment. Through a complex process of photosynthesis, these crystals provide Gara with nourishment and energy.
Among the few tribes that live in the Deep Desert, Grandfather Gara is seen as a creature of great wisdom. Although some tribes claim to have spoken to him, none of them tell how they found him, communicated with him or what he said.
