Windstead
Looking out over Thedor's Anger is a small village inhabited entirely and exclusively by half-elves. They once where too weak to fight a war or too unskilled to work with magic, so they hid in caves in the mountainside. When the war ended in the cataclysm that created the world as it is now, they emerged from their caves and started a new life. They still worship the Goddess and although she has not answered their prayers, their faith is unwavering.
The town holds knowledge of the old ages, but none of it relates to war or destruction. Their knowledge embodies songs and poems, myths and legends, chants and prayers.
Build like a cliff nest, they are almost unreachable and very well defended. To reach the village, you need to ascend a staircase that is several miles long, or you can fly. There are three main occupations in the village. You can be a Windrider, a mountaineer or a carpenter. Windriders fly on spiredrakes, or (rarely) on giant eagles and griffons and their main occupation is hunting to supply in the village's need for food. Mountaineers forage food in caves and herd mountain goats or cave lizards. Carpenters build windmills and various ingenious devices to provide in the village's comfort and entertainment.
