Okay, this might be a little misleading since I'm still clueless as to who Gayle is behind the camera, given the fact that she wasn't featured long enough in the competition. I only know Gayle from TV and her e-mails to me. But hang tight. I plan on going to one of her gigs posted on the home page of this site, and she even said she wants to meet me! If I do, then I can personally ask her biography questions. That being said, this might be the page I will update regularly. Satisifed with what I said? Then read on.

Gayle Dizon

Name: Patrice Gayle Dizon
Age: 19 years old
Address: Mandaluyong City
Height and Weight: I don't know the exact figures, and I think women hate it if we conjecture about their stats so I'll just shut my mouth. (But from the SIAM group pictures, compared to Christian who I have seen in person since I'm Caviteņo, uhm... her stats would be...)
Occupation: She's a Student of UP Diliman and she's also a choir member. She also sings in a band called "In.Flo.Ence"
Albums: Star in a Million Soundtrack and Weekend Love (both by Star Records)
Song: I Can't Tell You Why
Star in a Million Scores:

  1. Episode I: 7.96 (7th rank)
  2. Episode II:(The Fateful Episode) 7.76 (9th rank)
According to the October 30 issue of the Malaya Newspaper, Star in a Million is the first singing contest that Gayle has joined. What? Her first contest and she already rocks! Also according to the paper, the first song she could remember singing was Mariah Carey's "Hero", at the age of seven or eight. Two of the artists who have influenced her music was Erykah Badu and Lauryn Hill. Now we know where she got her fantastic RnB voice.

As far as her Star in a Million career goes, she was eliminated at the second episode. The Judges said that she sounded like she was "nagmamadali", but I disagree. She was just using her standard style. It's not her fault that the song wasn't suited to RnB. Argh, why did they have to eliminate her? They could have trashed Teresa, who deserved to be trashed in that episode! But I'm digressing and I'll take care of that in my Gayle Articles.

Personality-wise, it's quite obvious through the TV screen that she's a nice and kind-hearted person. Remember the episode where she was eliminated from the competition? She accepted the judges decision graciously and with dignity. She tried her best not to cry, and she probably wouldn't have if the other finalists didn't burst into tears. Would they react that way if she wasn't a good person with a good heart? Instead of them consoling her for her "loss", it was her who tried to stop their crying, assuring them that she was fine with the decision of the judges. She carried her head high, and not everybody could do that. Can you blame me for being Gayle-crazy? ^_^

Okay, that's it. See what I mean? There's not much new info here. But who knows? Maybe I'll be introduced to Gayle one of these days and then I can ask her myself. For the meantime, just buy the Star in a Million album and listen to her song over and over again. That'd make you feel close with her. ^_^
