TODAY I WOKE UP --- By Brett
today I woke up at seven o’clock
went down to get my car
I heard a voice behind my head (I turn around)
and saw a kid standing there
he had a knife to my back (said he needed a ride)
pushed me into the car (and told me to drive)
what should I do, what should I do
what I wanna know is - will I survive
the kid put a ski mask on his head
then grabbed his machine gun
you know where we’re going (I said I dunno)
he said take me to a school
he jumped out of the car (then he started to run)
he got into the school (I heard shots from a gun)

I kept on driving and got to work
turned on the radio
terrorists attack (our cities going down)
all firemen to the scene
the buildings ablaze (and it’s coming down)
I watch the sky (as it falls to the ground)

they just hi-jacked another plane
what more could they want
another attack (a few minutes later)
they hit the Pentagon

we got men inside (and their gonna die)

I just got home from a day of hell
and my wife started to cry
she said our boy (was shot at school today)
I can’t take anymore of this life
we went for a drive (thought our lives were done)
a man stopped the car (and pointed his gun)

we got out and started to run
we ran down the street (to find a cop)
but there’s never one around
we heard a car squeal (it was a drunk driver)
it was aimed at us (now our lives are over)
