Association History and PurposeBackground (by Keith Roots): A long-time advisor to Theta approached me in March 2001 about a potential gift to support the chapter's service program. Working with a small group of alumni (Jeff Evans, Bill Haynie, Jennifer Milan, Jackson Moore, Jeanne Blackstock Moore, and David Wilkinson), we developed a proposal that was approved in September. The anonymous donor will donate $10,000, which must be matched with an additional $40,000. The matching funds must be raised by Theta's 75th anniversary, February 9, 2004. These funds will be placed in an alumni-controlled endowment trust and shall only be used to support Theta's service program. The chapter also is in agreement with this proposal.
