Sumit Kanuga a.k.a. Sanuga a.k.a. Kanugs
Sumit was from Hostel 3 and
I was from Hostel 2. The east
was east and the west was
west and they were not supposed
to meet at all. Yet, somehow,
we clicked together.. We were
organisers and co-ordinators
of same events in Mood Indigo
and Techfest in our first
two years, and these brought
us together. Ofcourse, choosing
the same department and working
our ASS off at will shows
common interest, not to forget
common food tastes in panipuri
and other stuffs. We both
aspired to be the Core members
of the 2 coveted events of
IITB, Mood I and Techfest.
An unspoken agreement, as
if we guessed eachother's
will, made him choose Mood
I and me Techfest, and we
finally did it!
Kanuga, sometimes gets a bit eccentric about what he does. If he feels something is right, 10 to 1 my bet is you
cant change his mind. Even with this, we havent had a quarrel worth mentioning in our 4 yrs. Maybe I am a bit eccentric too :D.
After graduating from Chem in IIT Bombay, he is working presently in DCOTG

Ravindra "Ravi" Kumawat and Saurabh "Tomu" Gupta (also called Saetu)
My friends of 4 years, without whom Bombay would have been a dull place to be in. We three are from a group of 6
rest of whom are Sachin "Hada" Sancheti, Gautam "Baba" Gupta, Saurabh "God" Godha, Amit "Jain Saab" Jain and Ravi Prakast Tiwari (rpt).
Though mostly we hanged out as a group, I named these two because I spent more time together with them.
Ravi is a casanova,
kaamdev personified. He has
had numerous girls falling
for him, more than he can
sometimes handle. How he does
it .. no one knows. Ravi is
from Ajmer, and since 2nd
year, he has been my wingmate
and if you might tell so,
a room mate too. Ravi had
a Fiero which used to take
my burden wherever we went,
and he was obsessed with his
bike as yours truly is with
his comp. In return, I used
to shift whenever his "good
friends" used to come over
and needed privacy. An avid
player of Computer games,
discussion of Tekken first
brought us close, then we
made a team and killed many
a foes. He has a gamer attribute
of Paladin and I have that
of a Necromancer, and thats
why we make a perfect team.
Ravi graduated in Civil and is now working in Infosys, Banglore.
Saetu got christinend
as Tomu, how?? even I forgot,
most recallable story is his
trysts with his guide Professor
Tom which made him Tomu. Ravi
and Tomu were bumchums from
Kota. Tomu I can say was the
most focussed person of all
of us, he dreamt of pursuing
a career in Finance and adjusted
his 4 years in such a way
that he finally got it in
the end, Me ravi and Tomu
spent numerous nights in my
room watching movies or having
cack sessions, things I've
already started missing so
badly. He is presently working
in Kotek Mahindra Bank, Bombay
and we still meet over the
weekends.
I can go on and on telling
about the things we did, but
this is not the right place
for them. Check out the History
section(Coming Soon).

Techfest Family, My generation (2003)
 |
 |
 |
 |
Hmm, I know what you are thinking,
Family ??? Logically, it must
be a team, isnt it ?? This
is where Techfest differs
from all other college festivals.
To explain techfest and its
family culture in words would
baffle even maestros like
Tolkien and Shakespear. The
picture you see above is my
team as you may put it, the
team which did Techfest 2003.
Read more about the this in
History section (coming soon).
In the meantime, check out
the family homepage here

Civil Dept, Batch of '99, IIT Bombay

The pic you see above is from the only batch treat we went to. Earlier I used to despise half of the people in my batch
particularly the gults, and even to the last days, there was strong groupism, the kota gang, the Gult Gang,
the Dual Community, the Biharis, the Mantri ke Santri and many more. Yet it was this groupism that enforced
strong cooperation when required. And process of bring up this co-operation was a strong reason of development of our interpersonal
communication skills, political skills, Khopcha culture and what not, ha ha ha... I never realised that I'll miss them so much till they went away.

It is said that birds of same feather flock todether, this is one good example of that thing only.
All of us (Standing L-R : Nikku, Daadhi, Rizvi, Kammo, Sitting L-R: Pandey, Pintu and Thakkar) made it a point
that we will not forget our roots. We were in the same school in Bhilai and had years to get nostalgic about in each
every treat. Daadhi and Rizvi are in US now, Nikku is in Infosys, Kammo is working with ANM software and Pandey got a
job in Verizone. Our frequent treats, mostly due to rizvi doing something, got us named "Bhilaiwaale" :D :D
