Book Report Format
This is the format of the book report. In April time, there won't be a book report due, but a science report. As the time approaches, I'll inform you and your children about this and how it is to be written. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thank-you.

    Requirements for the book:
  1. [ ]- Choose a book of your choice.
  2. [ ]- The book must be a chapter book that is 50 pages or more.
  3. [ ]- It can not be a book that you have read before.
    Rough Draft:
  1. [ ]- 1 handwritten page or more on binder paper.
  2. [ ]-It must be written in pencil. ** - I will correct the rough draft and hand it back before the final draft is due.
    Final Draft
  1. [ ]- 1 handwritten page or more on binder paper.
  2. [ ]- It can be written in pencil or pen. If writing in pen, black or blue ink is fine.
  3. [ ]- 1 colored picture, on 8 1/2”x11” paper, that describes the book and is to be stapled to the front of the report.
Major Points to Cover:
1st Paragraph (This paragraph should be about 4-5 sentences)
[ ]-Name of the book
*Example: The name of the book I read is ___________. (Be sure that you underline the title of the book.)
[ ]-Name of the author of the book.
*Example: The author of the book I read is (write the author’s name).
[ ]-Name of the illustrator of the book.
*Example: The illustrator of the book is (write the illustrator’s name)
[ ]-Name of the main charaters of the book.
*Example: The main characters are (write the main character’s name).
2nd Paragraph ( CAN NOT be less than 5 sentences, but can be as long as you want)
[ ]-Describe what happens in the beginning of the book. (no less than 2 sentences)
*Example: In the beginning of the book (write what happens).
(Add at least four more sentences of detail)
3nd Paragraph ( CAN NOT be less than 5 sentences, but can be as long as you want
[ ]-Describe what happens in the middle of the book.
*Example: The middle of the books is about (write what happens).
(Add at least four more sentences of detail)
4nd Paragraph ( CAN NOT be less than 5 sentences, but can be as long as you want
[ ]-Describe what happens in the end of the book.
*Example: The end is when (write what happens).
(Add at least four more sentences of detail)
5th Paragraph (This paragraph should be about 4-5 sentences)
[ ]- Write about how you felt about the book and why.
*Example: I thought the book was (write a feeling). I felt this way because(write why).
[ ]- Write about the part of the book that makes you feel the way you did. ( no less than 2 sentences)
*Example: The part that I remember most about the book was when (write what happens).
