The Third Grade: 2000-2001

Science Fair 2001
DUE DATE: APRIL 23, 2001

This year we will be having a Science Fair on April 23, 2001. Your child is required to chose one of the choices that are given on this website to do thier science project.

There are 151 different science ideas on this website, ranging from Physical Science experiments to Life Science experiments, that your child must choose from to do their science report and project. (An example: To make an erupting volcano, look under #20 in Physical Science: Finding the Properties of Carbon Dioxide. If you want to just put a potato in a jar, look under #25 in Life Science for Sprouting Times of Potato Plants. If you want to just fold paper, look at #81 in Physical Science, the list goes on.)

There is also a format for the written report that needs to be followed. There are certain elements that have to be included in the written report, but how your child presents it will be up to them.(As most of you know, I like creativity.) Along with the written report, an actual project must be turned in (It could range from a note book, a lemon, or a paper clip to an actual machine, bottles with rocks, to a metal structure, etc...) It all depends on the project that your child picks from the choices on this site.

On the 15th of Ferbruary, a note will be going home that needs to be filled-out and returned back to me no later than March 2, 2001. This will explain to me which project your child picked. I will expect it back, completely filled-out, . The reason for this is so I know what projects are being done. Below are the links that your child will need to complete the rest of their assignment. If you have any questions drop me an E-mail by clicking on my name: MR H.

*** By the way, I did do an experiement in February with the class to show how to do a science project and write up a science report.***
