Science Report Format
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
- No rough draft is due (Make sure all is good.)
- EVERYTHING MUST BE IN COMPLETE SENTENCES and PARAGRAPHS.
- The report is to be written in cursive and in pen (blue or black only)
- The report is to be written on 8˝”x11” paper.
- An actual project is to be turned in with the written report
The actual project that is to be created/done is not to exceed more than the dimensions of
the tops of their desks. If the project is to be larger than the size of their desks, please
inform me; so that, I will allocate the proper space.
The report and project can be as professional and/or creative as you would like. Whichever way you want to do the actual PROJECT is up to you; However, below are ‘must-haves’ on the WRITTEN REPORT. Including these elements and the specific order, you may
also add as much as you want, BUT YOU CAN NOT TAKE OUT THESE SPECIFIC
ELEMENTS THAT ARE WRITTEN BELOW:
This is what has to be on the FRONT COVER:
- Project Title: (You must have a name for your project)
- Student’s name: (write your name)
- Date project is due: (April 23, 2001)
- A picture: hand-drawn or a photograph is o.k.
This is what has to be on the FIRST PAGE:
- The question to be answered: (You need to pick one of the ideas given on this website. Click
here if you need to see them again: SCIENCE PROJECT
IDEAS) THIS IS TO BE WRITTEN AT THE TOP OF THE PAPER.
- Hypothesis: (Your guess on what is going to happen)You can do this in one or two sentences.
- Materials needed: (Write down everything that you used )
This is to be put on the SECOND PAGE:
- Procedure: (Write down how you did your experiment in detail)
Make a list.
Example: 1. The first thing that I did was....
2. The second thing that I did was....
3. The third things that I did was.....
4. And so on...........
This is to be put on the THIRD PAGE:
- Results: (What happened after you did your experiment?Did it come out the way you thought? Why or why not?)
You need at least 5 sentences here.
