Footy Tipping FAQ's
Q. How do I register for Footy Tipping??
A. Simply fill out the registration for here
Q. How much does it cost to register??
A. Absolutely nothing!
Q. Can I register more than once??
A. No, sorry. Each person may only have 1 account.
Q. How do I submit my tips??
A. Click the 'Put in your Tips for this Round' link on the Footy Tipping
home page. Then select a round, fill in your email address and write in the
names of the clubs you think will win that round.
Q. Why don't you list the teams playing and allow me to simply click
which one I think will win. Wouldn't that be easier??
A. Sure would, and we had that system in place and ready to go. We have since
received legal advice to change the system used, as a result of the AFL's
copyright of the AFL fixture. We can't reproduce it in any way without their
permission. They're very strict and demand that if we use the fixture, we
use thier software (or software approved by them) costing thousands of
dollars. We, being a competely free site, simply can't afford it.
Q. When do I have to have my tips in by??
A. Each rounds tips will be accepted any time before the opening
bounce of the first game that round.
Q. Can I change my tips once I've submitted them??
A. Sure can, so long as it's not too late for that round. Just fill
in your tips for that round again, and your latest entry will be accepted.
Q. Why can't I log in??
A. There's no loging in process for this competition. The creators
of the site are pretty bad at those sorts of things, so this way's safer.
It's all done via email forms.
Q. What happens if there's a draw??
A. If there's a draw, each tipper will receive 1 point for that game.
Q. What happens if I don't submit my picks on time??
A. If there's a round, or individual games, for which you have
not tipped by the deadline, the Away teams will be
selected for you ('Away' teams determined according to the Official AFL Fixture).
Q. Can I tip for all 22 Rounds straight away??
A. Yes. You can tip for as many rounds in advance
as you wish. If you want to change your tips later,
just resubmit them.
Q. What do I get if I win the competition??
A. Here we go, more legal troubles. In short, nothing. We've
received advice to the extent that if we offered prizes, even
without entry costs, we would require a permit for the competition.
Quite frankly, this consumes too much time and money, which
we can't afford. But who knows, we may feel generous and start
sending out small 'gifts' to anyone at all. Any such event would be
completely coincidental, however, and we reiterate
that there is NO prize for winning the competition.
