The world's tallest hamper was erected in Pelangi Leisure Mall, the city's most popular entertainment complex during the Christmas holiday season of December 1995.

The hamper's height was 4.5 metres with about RM1.2 million of goods embedded inside.   Most of the items were donated by the participating companies and enterprises.

This hamper serves as the first price of a lucky draw contest held in January 1996.  The winner of this hamper donated her million-ringgit gift to some of the major old-folks homes and orphanages in the city upon receiving her grand price.
