South East Asia's largest Seaport, the
Tanjung Pelepas Seaport located 40 kilometres west of Johor Bahru City is currently taking
shape on the Tanjung Pelepas waterfront.
The RM3 billion, 1,935 acres seaport stretching some 10
kilometres along the seafront will see the construction of six berths capable of handling
any size of vessels and ships when all of it's five development phases completes in the
year 2020.
The first phase of development, due in the second-half of
1999, will have 2.16 kilometres of the seafront developed with two berths. Basic
facilities and a dedicated highway will also be constructed.
