BSM Derailment at Hutchinson, Kansas
April, 1995. The BSM was going over the interlock at Hutchinson, Ks. and some rolls of steel broke through the belly of a container and caught the Santa Fe rail at the diamond and then ripped open the underneath about the middle of the train. The rolls of steel loaded on the flat-bed truck below is what caused the derailment. The train was tied down in front of the depot and the good containers were hauled by truck and reloaded.
