| Old Station at Idalia, Missouri where I learned to telegraph. I was working as a hired hand on an 80 acre farm, one mile from the depot. Walking behind 2 miles with a hand plow. On Sundays and when it rained, I ran to the depot; where the agent, Guy Christan, taught me telegraphy. |

| First 43, First section of the Blue Streak, one mile north of Camden, Arkansas about 1936. It was on this trestle that number 6, a passneger train, caught me several years later. I was about 20 yards out on the trestle on a 3 wheel velocipede, when #6 came around the curve at North Camden. I finally got off the trestle and cleared #6 by 10 seconds. |
