The Spectacular 'Amphitheatre'


The rugged, Rugged 'Dragon tooth' Drakensberg peaks sharp tooth shaped Drakensberg (Dragons Mountains) most certainly lives up to its name. The same mountains that provided countless problems to the early voortrekkers as they traveled over them into the fertile Natal region, can today be seen from picturesque hiking trails, foot paths and horseback rides.
Fresh mountain air, and spectacular views!
Many luxury holiday resorts in the area provide a good base camp for explorers and nature lovers and offers cozy protection against the winter cold when the mountains are covered in thick white snow. Apart from mountain hiking, these resorts provide activities for the whole family. Visitors can view many caves in the area with walls covered with rock art of the Bushmen people. The area also has an abundance of fauna & flora amidst the beauty and splendor of the "Barrier of uplifted spears" as some tribes in the area call it.
