The Dome of St. Paul's Cathedral.

St. Paul's

St. Paul's is easily one of the most impressive buildings in London, if not England. But, I really don't like it that much. Yes, it's an architectural masterpiece. Yes, it's fun to go up into the Whispering Gallery of the dome and whisper something along the wall that your friend can hear on the other side of the dome. And yes, the tombs of Nelson, Wellington, and Wren are moving to see. Yet, I find it all too sterile. I don't think it has any of the character that you'll find at many of the other cathedrals in England. Plus, the gift shop in the crypt is kinda tacky. I can't imagine why Charles would want to be married there instead of Westminster Abbey. Then again, I can. St. Paul's is a lot like his public image - surrounded by pomp and ostentation but ultimately hollow.

The chapel in the crypt is undergoing restoration. As a result, a visitor cannot get to see Christopher Wren's tomb. The tombs of Wellington and Nelson are still accessible. The restoration project is expected to continue until the middle of next year.
