Broadcast date: 10/04/99 Episode: #817 Location: Osaka, Japan/Pacific Ocean Mission: Salon on Ship. Quote: "The word "bitch" is too nice for you!" - Ayanna, grilling Veronica like a smoke sausage.
SummaryAyanna throws Clueless an accusation.
Finally! In the spirit of Latin America, Road Rules appears to be saving the best for last! Ok, so it's Yet Another Instalment of The Real World: Semester at Sea [TM] (complete with a cheesy mission - Super Cuts at Sea, it better not be the last one!), but inlight of the fabulous missions we've had this season, I'll take it! Sure, the preview came coupled with the tagline, "Ayanna Throws a Accusation" to which any regular viewer would go, "What Again?!?" Bu, bu, bu wait! Ayanna's accusation carries some weight here... as it turned out Clueless miraculously conned her way down to two assignments (out of the ten original). And with the deadline fast approaching, she found that she needed someone else to cheat off of since Pawel and Shawn were probably getting suspicious. So she comes across Ayanna's fine handwork on South Africa- blowing out a light bulb in the process, she whisk the article down to the nearest copier, and Presto! Problem solved. Well Ms. Thang you've messed with the wrong woman! For the next thing we know Ayanna's on the hunt for Clueless through out the ship- grilling a few bystanders in the process. Eventually Ayanna tracks Clueless down to the second most obvious place outside the men's locker room, her cabin quarters where she confronts Clueless with an accusation backed up with hard evidence (how Ayanna acquired Clueless's copy is unknown)... Ayanna: "Ugh, Veronica, I have a question..... what is this... Umm, March 22, 1999 marked an important day in the history of South Africa. Umm, excuse me, this is my f%@* paper!" Veronica: "No it's not!" Ayanna: "What the f*&%, YES it is!" Veronica: "No it's not girl!" This type of (repeated) banter went on for at least two minutes, and concluded with a 100 yard dash through the halls of the ship with gawkers filing back into their cabins to avoid the tortes and hare (did Clueless actually think she had a shot against a star track and field athlete?). If this whole scene proved two things, they are 1.) Clueless is a lousy lair who can't even keep a straight face through her tales (memo to viewers: How do you know if someone's lying? There're smiling- works every time!) And 2.) Ayanna really, really needs to control her temper- though I'd be pissed too is some schmuck copied my work with out my consent! And what type of hard punishment does S.A.S hand out for plagiarism? Not a damn thing! That dean Les McCop-out should be fired, or better yet fired out of a torpedo tube given this season's premise! If you're caught cheating at my college it's an automatic failure from the course, but here Clueless doesn't so much as get a reprimand! What- is she servicing the dean too! But hold on Ms. Thang, we're not through with you yet! Wanna add theft onto that charge? As it turned out, plagiarism wasn't the only accusation Clueless got slapped with... just ask Pua who consequentially found her black top in Clueless's closet. So in an act of defiance, Pua struts to the 500th party on the ship, donning her black top- "Just waiting for a reaction." says Pua. And a reaction is exactly what she gets when we see the text book example of the phrase, A picture is worth a thousand words with Clueless displaying the Oh my God! How dare she steal the shirt I rightfully stole from her! look! Clueless rationalizers, start your keyboards! ("Well maybe she....") ("What if the....")
As for yours truly, even though I wouldn't exactly call Clueless an angel, I still don't feel comfortable
making a judgement call on the theft charge until I hear what Clueless has to say for herself next
week. So until then, stay tuned....
NEXT WEEK: Pawel has a little ole secret to tell! Jump Straight to "10 Days". Or go back to "The Perils of Pua".
