Disney's MGM Studious

At this park which opened in 1989, you will find some rides, shops, and attractions that appear to be strait out of Hollywood in the 1930's. You get to see first hand how movies are made and at this theme park there are tons of hands on activities for you to do.

Attractions

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

This is quite possibly the scariest ride in all of Walt Disney World. Legend has it that there is something strange to the elevators in this creepy old hotel. So...guess what? You're going for a ride in one of them, creepy music, voices, and pictures make you feel as if you are going back in time and just as the black sky fills with stars....AHHHHHHHHHHH!

Beauty and the Beast Stage Show

Several times every day, all of the stars from the Disney Movie: Beauty and the Beast, come out and put on a presentation of their story. A nice way to relax during a busy day.

Voyage of the Little Mermaid

This show is a great one too, Many of the characters from this Disney movie dance and sing to the songs from the movie and numerous special effects make you feel as if you are under the water. This ride usually has a long wait.

The Making of...

This show educates guests on the long processes of making a movie. It takes you through the character's voices, and the animating.

The Magic of Disney Animation

This is also a wonderful attraction. As you enter the building you can see pictures and awards on display from past or future Disney movies. Once inside, you see a film on how a voice is turned into an animated character, and then you take a walk through tour of some animators at work, you are led and educated by television screens above you.

Studio Backlot Tour

At this spectacular tour, you see a short special effects show with guests from the audience and then you board a tram vehicle and journey through many departments of the studio and by a wardrobe department after that you see old props from movies and houses from various tv shows, then your tram goes up onto "Catastrophe Canyon" and pretty soon the ground shakes, water comes pouring down and people on the left side of the tram get wet. It is one of my favorite rides in Disney World.

Backstage Pass To 101 Dalmations

This show is a totally behind the scenes look at the making of the live movie 101 Dalmatians. It shows how the audio-anamatronic dogs were working alongside real dogs to make this movie seem real.

The Great movie Ride

This ride, which is a replica of Mann's Chinese Theater takes guests on a journey through the movies!!! It is a fairly long wait but once on your large vehicle you take a journey through movies like "Singing in the Rain", "Mary Poppins", "Alien", "The Wizard of Oz", and many more. Some of the scenes in the ride like the bank explosion and the alien space ship might be a little scary for little kids!

SuperStar Television

In the preshow of this ride, several guests are selected to perform roles in famous tv shows, once inside the huge theater you get to see those brave souls in some famous parts in I Love Lucy, a news show, Home Improvement, and more. Even if you don't get picked it is a really enjoyable experience.

Monster Sound Show

This is another hands on show where selected guests get to make the sound effects for a short film, after there attempts the sounds are played with the film and everything is almost always mixed up and funny!

Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular

After seeing a lot of Indiana Jones scenes: escape from a jungle temple, fight in a African market, you will have a much better understanding of how he pulls off his amazing stunts!

Star Tours

This ride is great if or if not you are a Star Wars fan. Your favorite droids R2-D2 and C-3PO return to take you on an amazing journey through space, even though you move about a foot at most. It is an incredibly fun and thrilling ride that uses simulated movement. It might be a little bumpy for some people though.

Jim Henson's Muppet Vision 3-D

In this show all of the muppets join you for a ton of funny 3-D mishaps, after a bunch of laughs and a lot of 3-D effects, the show ends with a colorful fireworks display.

Honey I Shrunk the kids Movie Set Adventure

This is a huge playground with tons of rocks, slides, waterspouts, grasses, and bugs that make you feel miniaturized.

Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame - A musical adventure

This show, performed in a cool, shaded theater, takes you back into the Disney movie. The gypsies tell the story of the Hunchback through many means and it is a great show that you should be sure to see.
