Day 3

Sue

It was a very quiet day as we were three tired Canadians and one very sick Australian host. (Just for your information I DID NOT poison David ... he made the roast pork we ate the night before and he was the only one that was sick.)

We went shopping in the morning, down to Target because Amanda was having a clothing crisis. She is now the proud owner of a tshirt, rugby shirt and polo shirt. We came back to check on our poor sick host and did laundry (the children learned how to peg laundry out on a "Hills Hoist"). Adam and Amanda played footy outside while I read.

Everyone was feeling restless in the evening so we went for a car ride. While we were driving Adam spotted two kangaroos eating on the side of the road. Amanda and I got out of the car and took a few pictures of the kangaroos (actually I took photos of Amanda taking pictures). Amanda was so delighted as she actually got about 3 feet away from one kangaroo that had a joey in her pocket!

We ended up stopping at Logan's Beach on the way back. This is the section of the beach where during the winter months the southern right whales come to have their young ones. My young ones had a riot there. They were running in the waves, laughing and playing in the surf. We were the only three people as far as the eye could see in either direction. It was a magical moment!
