Forever and Ever
This film is probably the most meaningful one that I have ever watched. It has brought me so many insights to life. Perpahs, you have read something about this film on the "Singapore" page in Oscarland. I only watched the later part of the film. So, I got its VCD immediately after I was back to Hong Kong. Here are the things I want to share:
"Once upon a time, a warrior was fighting for his sake.
No matter how hard he fought,
he could use each tactic only once coz the demons had to have new ways to fight back.
Fu was struggling with blood disease.
He kept going in and out of hospital for blood injections.
The road was long and tough,
Fu and his mom had never given up their faith and efforts.
But God did not look them in mercy.
That year, they came back from hospital. Fu's mom was crying.
No one could believe AIDS entered to Fu's body through blood injection.
Although Fu could not accept the fact at the first place,
he gradually understood a meaningful life is more important than a lengthy life.
Like what he said,
one would have no regrad if he could contribute more to the society when he is blooming.
He stopped blamming on God.
Instead, he became even more active in
using his natural born writing talent to change people's attitude to AIDS carriers.
His dream came true. His book was published and was ranked at the first among the 10 Best Publications.
He left the battle field 4 years ago.
Perhaps, he was not successful in getting rid of his enemy.
His determination of struggling has definitely waken up many people.
He passed away at the age of 23."
Fu said:
"Being the worst is not necessarily always the case. You are not the only one being laughed and insulted. You are not the poorest fellow."
"Cash is important. But it can't buy time, health and respect."
"I will teach Tat to give you carnation every Mothers' Day. Mom, here is one for you. I don't think I can wait till the next Mothers' Day."
"I think we should look at HIV not only the virus itself, but also the challenges it places on the trust among people. Since childhood, I don't want to do things disappoint my mom. Whenever I saw her being upset, I felt a failure. I love my mom."
Fu's mother said:
"You've never considered my feelings whenever you lose your temper. All these years, you fail to understand mom's feelings? A very sad mom is telling her son that no matter what happens, you can't give up."
"Fu, if a person is useless, his existence would be meaningless. We don't know exactly how much time you'll have. Maybe, a new drug is discovered tomorrow?! I am very optimistic. You always make me mad. Have I blamed on fate? God has arranged you to be my son for some reason. I really don't want you and me to see him with anger and blame."
"Son, look up. Everyone needs to go through the last stage of life. But you must not deny yourself. Come on! Don't be afraid of not being in good shape. People look at you, just look back."
"I am writing this book because I want to continue Fu's will of being an author. While thinking of Fu, I hope those who are studying, working or struggling with illness, please think of Fu whenever you step into troubles, face diffuculties or you are hit by a storm. Don't give up your studies, ideal and life easily."
